Victor’s View

What-ho readers! My name is Victor, the Invicta Austin A35 van and welcome to my column. I am lucky enough to have been given the opportunity of telling you all about my jolly weekend at the Wrotham Classic Steam and Transport Rally. Fortunately for me, Invicta was a proud sponsor of the event so I was absolutely thrilled to be located in full view of the main show ring with my splendid Invicta colleagues and their spiffy marquee! Not only that but I was asked if I’d like to pootle around the ring for the Post 1945 Cars category and was entered for the Best In Ring contest which was so flattering! I didn’t win the main prize unfortunately but was pleased for the other chap who was a splendid Rover P3!

The weekend weather was unpredictably English but I was delighted to be with my colleagues, meeting and greeting visitors at our stand. There were so many people there and I was quite spoilt with compliments from existing and potentially new Invicta customers! We also had a competition at our stand in which we were giving away a year’s free classic vehicle insurance! I’m so excited to see who will win the draw and I believe the lucky winner will be announced next week so watch our website and Facebook for details.

There was so much to do at the Rally. The Moto Stunts International team performed exhilarating high speed precision crossovers, high ramp jumps and skilful trick riding which ended with a mega fire stunt and a motorcyclist crashing through a wall of fire! I wanted to give it a try myself but my Invicta colleagues advised against it and made sure my handbrake was firmly on!

The Jazz Advocates band played some great tunes which bought back some happy memories of my younger days and The Kondinis amazed us with some fantastic magic and illusion tricks.

New this year to the rally was a great selection of stalls offering a great variety of food, clothing, jewellery, books, face painting and home wares. I also found a few sparkling chrome accessories for myself at the auto jumble.

All weekend I was surrounded by the best classic vehicles, vintage cars, steam engines, traction engines and military vehicles. It was everything a nostalgic, old chap such as myself could have desired!

Invicta Insurance Services plans to continue supporting the Wrotham Classic Steam and Transport Rally so next year I can spruce myself up for more of the same!

I hope to see you all there!

Cheerio and toot-toot!
